Sudbury 2.0 Project

Laura Creek Offset Dyke

The Laura Creek Offset Dyke was discovered in the Fall of 2019 while exploring pre-1900’s land claims. Historic workings, including a 30 ft. decline shaft, were located in the dyke exploiting mineralized quartz veins. Select sampling of the dyke by Inventus returned up to 4.1 g/t gold, 0.33% copper, 21 g/t silver, 0.86% lead and 42 g/t bismuth.

Winter 2020 Exploration

Inventus conducted a Induced polarization (IP) survey and a small drill program on the offset dyke in the winter of 2020. The drill program was designed to sample the offset dyke in a small area, 60 metres down dip and 120 metres along strike. The drilling intersected Sudbury breccia along the margins and confirmed the presence of inclusions, epidote alteration and anomalous copper mineralization toward the centre of the dyke.

Future Exploration

Now that the drilling has established the dip, thickness and lithology of the offset dyke, effective exploration techniques employing geophysics can be initiated along the known 5-kilometre extent of the dyke. These techniques are well-established in Sudbury exploration and have been successful in finding many orebodies around the Sudbury Basin.
